I work with the rejected, the neglected and the washed up. I used to visit Brick Lane in the early 70’s before it all changed and remember an area full of character. I work with discarded and found wood, plastic and metal and try and utilise the original shapes without changing them.
I am interested in nostalgia, particularly the forgotten faces of a past era. I try and combine this and the materials with respect and a little gentle humour. I raise my battered hat to the photographers Phil Maxwell, Marketa Luskacova, Paul Trevor and Wolfgang Suschitsky.
