Over the past year, this has been my daily view of the back garden from my box room studio/office at home.
I wanted to explore this daily view over the bare winter months in this work, by pushing colour and experimenting with form and colour blocks, so moving in direct opposition to what I was actually seeing.
Through the process I wanted to think about the ‘monotonous’ (in lockdown), and experiment with how to change my perspective of a view in order to see something different in the day-to-day sameness. I particularly wanted to do this with the garden, which has helped me tremendously over the past year as a place of joy and solace.
