This painting of mine is probably the piece most obviously inspired by Algernon Newton, as it is a view he painted himself.
I came upon the scene by chance and realised it was one Algernon Newton had painted; I literally stopped in my tracks as the towpath turned a corner away from Regents Park and it appeared before me. It was a moment so full of atmosphere that I knew I had to paint it for myself.
