Last Ordersis from a series of paintings exploring independent businesses and issues of urban decay, gentrification and the disappearing British high street.
This small pub is in Tottenham, North London close to Tottenham Hotspur football ground, and football supporters frequently visit to celebrate or bemoan their team. The area is undergoing huge changes due to the newly developed football stadium and gentrification of the area. This pub is one that has so far survived the demolition of generations of family-owned small businesses and as development continues around it, this is a pub that seems (superficially at least) unchanged by the pervading narrative.
