I wanted to make an effort to express myself, to express my desire to travel that is now repressed by the lockdown. Last December, my friends and I were due to learn more skiing in Val D’Isere, which was cancelled. Disappointing as it may have been, I consoled myself by hoping to go there once this lockdown is lifted, when people are safer. Closing my eyes, I see the high contrasting snow-capped mountains and the shadows that will soon be reachable.
I want to use this time to experiment on art, to develop my thoughts and to reflect on what to be grateful for instead of feeling restricted. Growing one’s mental fortitude is ever important and helping people dear to you grow theirs too. Let’s think of what’s waiting, what we want to prepare for when things stabilise…
