Sitting on a balcony in Chania, Crete, sipping an Ouzo in the late afternoon, the sun warming my Northern European bones. I keep these images alive in my head and they have helped me cope during lockdown.
Sip it slowly, don’t gulp it, it’s meant to be savoured. The ritual of Ouzo and mezedes should be relaxing and the whole process enjoyed for two hours or more.
Maybe someday. Soon.
