I’m fortunate to live in a way that moments of peacefulness are easy to find. Floating around aboard a narrowboat along the rivers of the idyllic English countryside. Swans tapping at the windows for a bit of bread (sarcastic eye roll).
Yet, despite this, it’s difficult to tune out the complexities of the world. As the tools to gather information grip us closer, we are left grappling with a myriad of social justice issues, the climate crisis, and the unbelievable reality of the pandemic. The immediate end to the flow of life as we knew it, has been, as I’m sure most will agree, overwhelming.
Amidst a day of thumbing through my mental card-catalogue of anxiety and fears, a sense of peacefulness found me. Simply, a cow grazing in a field. A reminder that despite the chaos a cow still grazes in a field, the sun still sets and life goes on.
