I have lived and worked around East London for over 25 years as an artist and illustrator.
Currently working both from a shared studio in Brick Lane and from my home in Dalston, I have a love of architecture and the built environment. Using various media including watercolour, linocut, wood engraving and digitally manipulated drawings, I aim to capture the life and character of buildings, locations and streetscenes. Much of my inspiration is derived from East London and the East End. I am also prolific sketcher and nearly always have a sketchbook of some size with me.
Having been a freelance illustrator since moving to London in 1986, I have a wide range of clients in various sectors including publishing, editorial, advertising, design and charities as well as one-off building portraits for private clients. Often commissioned too by local heritage organisations, I also specialise in illustrated maps and also periodically run linocut and sketching workshops in various locations.
My work has been exhibited frequently around East London, and there are new exhibitions planned for the future.
