Born in 1924 Audrey Scarle studied at Glasgow School of Art where she met her husband, Tom Gardner. Went on to teach and became a member and then Vice President of the Architectural Heritage Society for Scotland from the 70s. Commented on Glasgow’s changing built environment for 50 years and this early work reflects that interest. Audrey continued to paint and died in 1920. Glasgow Museums hold some of her paintings.
