I’m interested in the crossover between a still life and an interior painting, and this has a little of both. This depicts a French jar from Town House, along with an array of antique wooden Hungarian bowls for salt and spices, and some Coldstone mid-century yellow slipware cups, saucers and bowls along with an antique coffee pot. I liked the echo in the handles of the two pots, the stark uprights of the beeswax candles cast in semi-shadow, and the brightness of the lemon against the muted pinks and browns.
