This is a domestic interior in early morning light, with breakfast things half-abandoned. I’m interested in signs of human life in a recently-vacated room, as well as the sense of multiple light sources outside the frame: a window in the kitchen beyond, a door and window behind the viewer and a small lamp too weak to influence the sources of daylight. A chair pushed back, a jacket on a door — suggestions of a narrative, but without drama.
