One thing that was important to me in lockdown was nature and the inspiring, ever changing beauty of the world in my immediate neighbourhood.
In lockdown we were confined in the same place, limited in our movement and any new sensory and visual experiences. Having to go for a walk every day to the same places near my home, I have realised that beautiful, inspiring, uplifting scenes can be found on our doorstep, if we pause and observe and allow ourselves to see and admire the world around us.
Those same places can look and feel very different, depending on the time of the day or the season, the weather, our mood, or the company we are in. It is as if the Creator (or Nature, if you prefer) is the most talented, generous artist showing us its breath-taking masterpieces all the time. I see them everywhere. One doesn’t have to search far to find them. Viewing, observing and absorbing the nature on my doorstep helped me through the lockdown and I believe could help all of us through difficult times, could help us feel content and encouraged, find positivity and inspiration in our life.
